Meet the Doctor

Dr. Mark Parker and Max

I graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 1998, and worked in several chiropractic clinics before starting Reboot Proactive Therapy. During my years of practice, I’ve learned various effective techniques for improving joint, muscle, and the nervous system function. The advantage to knowing more techniques is being able to customize the care to the patients’ needs.

These modalities include Motion Palpation and Diversified, the low force technique of Torque Release, and the muscle balancing Active Isolated Stretching and Strengthening. Advanced Muscle Integration Technique or AMIT Is the primary technique I use and has proven to be a very powerful and effective treatment method I have been helping patients with for years (see: AMIT). Adding Matrix Repatterning Technique to the tool box provides more advanced care for trauma related conditions (See: MRT)

My interest in health care started while I was in Montana studying Forestry. While in school I developed asthma and was introduced to the world of Respiratory Care, which led to seven years as a Respiratory Therapist and a move to Seattle.
My discovery of Chiropractic happened as it does with many people through chiropractic treatment: I developed vertigo, or dizziness, with turning my head – not a good thing while driving! A friend suggested Chiropractic where I learned not only could Chiropractic help the vertigo but my asthma as well. Chiropractic was amazing! Here was a health care system I could use to really help people, not just treat their symptoms as I had been doing for seven years, so back I went to school for four more years of intensive study.

After Chiropractic school I returned to Kirkland to start a practice and resume my training in the martial art of Aikido where I have reached the rank of second degree black belt, and also to continue my life long interests in canoeing, hiking, and gardening. While out gardening I usually have lots of help from my spoiled blue and gold macaw, Max. Other than helping in the yard Max loves to take baths in the hot tub, or just to be on my shoulder. This also was about the time I started to folk dance: English Country Dancing, Contra, Scottish, and Scandinavian. I found a great source of fun great music and a wonderful community of very friendly people, (look up seattledance.org). That’s where I met my wife Laura Mé who literally danced into my life. You can still find us on the dance floor once or twice a week.
